Hello, I’m Eric Brown. I am a university professor with a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Boston College and many years of experience teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students in academic writing, philosophy, political science, ethics, critical thinking, and research methods. I help students develop clearer essays, stronger arguments, better thesis statements, and more confident academic writing. My approach is patient and supportive, but also intellectually serious: I do not simply correct grammar or rewrite texts. I help students understand their ideas, organize them clearly, use evidence effectively, and revise their work into stronger final form. I can support students with essay planning, thesis (master's and doctoral level) and research projects, university-level writing, philosophy and social science/political science assignments, critical thinking, presentations, and English-language academic writing. I have supervised student theses and mentored students preparing academic conference presentations, including successful applications to the PPE London conference. My goal is to help students become better thinkers and writers, not just complete a single assignment.
