How we rank

The list of experts (tutora.hu/experts) is ordered by a score by default. The score is at most 100 points. Here is everything that counts and how much it is worth. We use no other factor.

up to 40 points

Counts only when the visitor searches for something. Without a search text this part adds no points.

Their name contains the search term

Filters (subject, topic, price, city, format and the rest) give no points; they only narrow the list.

A featured expert is chosen by the Tutora team. Only an expert on the Pro or Premium plan can be chosen. We do not sell featuring per search.

Featuring counts in two places. It adds points to the score, but only while the expert's plan in force is Pro or Premium. When a visitor is not searching or filtering, up to 6 featured experts appear above the list: Premium first, then Pro, and within each by the average of ratings, in random order where the averages are equal.

Order

By default the list is shown by score, highest first. For an equal score the newer profile comes first.

A visitor can choose another order. The chosen criterion then decides, and for an equal value the score decides.

  • Premium First Experts on the Premium plan come first.
  • Verified First Experts with the verified badge come first.
  • Most Booked By the number of completed lessons.
  • Price: Low to High By the price of their cheapest active service, or their hourly rate if they have none.
  • Price: High to Low By the price of their cheapest active service, or their hourly rate if they have none.
  • New Experts By when the profile was created, newest first.

The match percentage

While searching, the match percentage on a result card shows only how well the expert fits the search term. It is calculated from the search points: the expert's search points divided by the possible 40, rounded to a whole number.

Points for the plan, the verified badge, qualifications, ratings, completed lessons, a new profile and featuring are not part of it. Without a search text there is no match percentage on the card.

What does not count

The hourly rate is not part of the score: you can only filter and sort by it. The list contains only experts approved by Tutora.
